Form: Bent legs, flexed feet, bent arms, arched back or tuck or pike when the body is supposed to be straight
Amplitude: Some skills have a minimum height requirement. For instance, lifting the leg to horizontal, or casting to at least 60 degrees. The judges are required to take deductions if a skill is too low.
Split: Skills such as leaps or other split or straddle positions a minimum degree of separation. Points are taken off if the skill is executed with less than the requirement.
Steps and Hops: Ideally, the landing of skills, tumbling, and vaults should be solid, without needing to take additional hops or steps to maintain balance. Smaller corrections to landings result in small deductions, while large or multiple steps or hops result in larger deductions.
Falling: Whenever a gymnast falls off the apparatus or falls to the floor, an automatic deduction of 1/2 point (.5) is taken off.
