About Our Program

The Westfield YMCA Gymnastics Team is committed to developing a competitive spirit and good sportsmanship while maintaining the Y.M.C.A. principles of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility

Every gymnast is treated equally and everyone has the opportunity to progress at their individual rate.

Our team is a progressive goal setting environment for gymnastics training with teamwork as an emphasis. We believe the attainment of personal goals is the first step in the development of an all-around athlete. Success is the achievement of goals.

With a focus on improving basic skills with an introduction to training required in strength, dance and the competitive aspects of the sport, our Level 2 Team is a great first step onto our team. The Level 2 Team practices on Thursday's from 5:30-7:00 and Saturday's from 12:00-2:00. Participation in home meets is encouraged, away meets are optional.

The Intermediate/Advanced team (Level 3 & up) expands on the competitive aspect of the sport, such as rules of competition, form and routine development with teamwork as an emphasis. Individual and team goals direct the skill development and achievement at this level. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00-7:30 and Saturdays 9:00-2:30.

All Team members are encouraged to participate in meets, events such as our holiday sleep-over, fundraisers, exhibitions, Year End Show and other events and the end-of-the-year banquet.
